Project Context

Working with Danny Forster,  of dkfARCHITECTURE, NSI helped to integrate important elements of sustainable design. The Omena Lake House, a beautiful example of sustainable architecture, incorporates stormwater catchment in a variety of ways. A green roof is integrated to catch and slow rainfall without interfering with the contemporary lines of the home. Additionally the home includes a rain garden to utilize overflow from the green roof. Water that cannot be used in the rain garden infiltrates into appropriate soil below the garden. The residence is a wonderful collaboration between client, architect and engineer.
