Project
Laughlin Ranch
In Progress
Laughlin Ranch, located near Bullhead City, AZ is a master planned community with a potential maximum population of 102,000 residents generating approximately 9.2 MGD of wastewater. Located along the Colorado River, a mixture of residences, village amenities and recreational opportunities are planned for this Mohave Desert community. A series of wetlands-based decentralized wastewater treatment facilities built throughout the development will process and reuse the effluent. Treatment systems are located according to topography, open space planning, educational opportunities and development phasing.
The recommended treatment method incorporates roughing filters for BOD removal; trickling filters for nitrification; and constructed wetlands for denitrification, suspended solids, and BOD removal. Final polishing and disinfection is provided by a pressure sand filter and UV disinfection. Reclaimed water will be used for golf course and common landscape irrigation, thus greatly reducing the potable water demand.
