NSI seeks a qualified individual to support Drafting Staff, Project Engineers, and Project Managers in the company’s engineering design and drafting needs. The ideal candidate would possess the following:

  • Undergraduate or Associates Degree; technical background preferred.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a CAD technician in the engineering, architectural, or landscape architecture industries.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish would be considered as an additional benefit.

Tasks will include office-based work with the drafting, engineering and design teams. Work includes completing drafting work related to water infrastructure engineering and water master planning including wastewater, stormwater, reuse, and land applications systems. Drafting projects include: plans, profiles, cross sections, plotting, piping detail drawings, and related subsets. Additionally a familiarity with topography and civil specific drafting will be helpful.

More specifically draftsperson should be able to handle tasks such as:

  • Basic CAD drawing using geometry
  • Plotting including Paper, DWF, PDF
  • Proofing and correcting sheets under supervision of engineering and design staff
  • Drawing correction using DWF workflow
  • Drawing skills include:
    • Geometry: perpendicularity, parallelism, concentricity, bisection, angles
    • Dimensioning: linear, angles and leaders
    • Layers: access, isolate, rename, freeze, lock, and turn on/off.
    • Object Selection: Select, Unselect, Select Polygon, Previous and Fence.
    • Change Properties: match properties and change by using the palette
    • Tool palette: accessing our custom blocks and using dynamic blocks
    • Attributes: add and change information for all attributes (global) or a single attribute.
    • Check drawing scale in model and paper space.
    • Text: Edit, Copy and Justify

NSI seeks a qualified individual with a minimum of 4 years working experience as an engineering technician and/or wastewater system operator. The ideal candidate would possess the following:

    ·Undergraduate or Associates Degree; technical background preferred.
    ·Familiarity with production and management of engineering specifications, equipment selection (pumps, valves, controls, etc), electronic controls and on-site troubleshooting.
    ·Minimum 4 years experience working with wastewater treatment system engineers or operation in an office and/or field setting.
    ·Experience working with contractors, manufacturers and equipment suppliers.
    ·Computer skills, including Excel/spreadsheets, word processing, internet proficiency, online control interfaces. AutoCAD proficiency preferred.
    ·Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish would be considered ideal.
    ·Familiarity with and creative approach to ‘green’ design technologies and trends. The ideal candidate would be LEED certified.

Tasks will include office-based work to prepare specification manuals for engineering projects, review contractor submittals and other associated construction administration tasks, select and review equipment (pumps, controls, values, tanks, etc) for water and wastewater designs and review and markup equipment-related items on construction plans. Provide phone support for operators of wastewater systems designed by NSI with occasional field work to observe construction, troubleshoot systems and provide operator training. If candidate is proficient in AutoCAD, a portion of work tasks may include drafting assistance to lead drafting team.

Salary will be dependent upon experience. Range: $30,000-$45,000.
