INTEGRATED DESIGN GENERATES INNOVATIVE RESULTS
NSI focuses on designing natural systems that help preserve and restore our environment. NSI works to create design solutions that address the challenges surrounding the human uses of water. Our projects include creating innovative water supply, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and water reuse systems. Many of our engineered systems have contributed to precedent setting sustainable building projects.
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)
LEED is an internationally recognized certification system, developed by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED measures how well a home, building, or community performs across a series of ‘green’ building metrics. Points are awarded for the achievement of energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
Living Building Challenge (LBC)
LBC is the Cascadia Region Green Building Council’s ‘call to the design and construction community to pursue true sustainability in the built environment.’ Often referred to as ‘beyond Platinum’, projects require buildings to generate its own energy with renewable non-toxic resources, capture and treat all of its water, and operate efficiently and for maximum beauty.
