Natural Systems International (NSI) is a leader in applied biotechnology and ecological engineering.

For the past twenty years, Natural Systems International (NSI) has focused our firm development around water. The firm was founded with the mission of applying holistic ecological solutions to the problems that arise from the human uses of water. NSI works with integrated design teams to provide progressive options for water master planning, wastewater treatment and reuse, stormwater management, potable and non-potable water supply, and watershed restoration.NSI boasts a rare depth and diverse range of experience that equals or exceeds even the largest national engineering firms. Since 1989, NSI has designed, developed studies, specified and/or observed construction on more than 500 ecological engineering projects. We have firmly established our reputation for innovation and excellence with state and local regulatory agencies throughout the United States.

NSI provides personal service to our clients throughout the United States and internationally. NSI has undertaken projects in 40 states, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Bahamas, Fiji, India, China, Cambodia, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, and Australia. NSI has had the privilege of working with many Native Americans tribes throughout the United States including the Shoshone, the Arapaho, the Navajo, the Lakota Sioux, and the Tesuque Pueblo.

Many of the projects we have contributed to become precedent examples in the design field. NSI was the first firm to have total reuse projects (for irrigation and/or flushing water closets) in New Mexico, Nevada, New Jersey, Washington D.C., and Virginia. NSI has been involved with many LEED projects for treatment and reuse of both wastewater and stormwater.
